How to enable your audio and video when using a browser

How to enable your audio and video when using our desktop app
- Windows
- When opening the app for the first time, Windows will pull your default permission settings for your video camera and microphone.
- For most people audio and video permissions are enabled and will be configured automatically.
- If you are running into problems getting your audio and video to work, then your computer permissions may need to be enabled manually. Click here to read how.
- Mac
- When opening the app for the first time, the app will ask for permission to use your video camera and microphone. Click Ok for both.

How to mute your audio and video
- Simply click on the audio or video icon at the bottom of your screen to mute. The icon will turn red to signal that you are muted. To unmute, click on the icon again.
- Alternatively you can use our keyboards shortcuts:
- Shift + A to mute your audio
- Shift + V to turn your video on and off.

How to turn off Teamflow sound
- If you are taking a phone call, or jumping to another conferencing app, you can turn off Teamflow audio by selecting the "Audio" button from the toolbar
You can then re-enable audio once you are done your call and back on Teamflow
How to choose your audio and video source
- To choose your audio and video source, click on the arrow button next to the microphone or video icon.
- This will bring up a list of audio or video sources on your computer. Select the preferred source and your audio and video settings will update.
How to enable screenshare in Teamflow
- When using a Mac and clicking on the screen share app for the first time, you will be prompted to enable screen recording.
- Follow the steps below to enable screen share for Teamflow:
- If screen share is not enabled on your web browser, you will see the following pop-up:
- If you are using the desktop app, you will see a similar pop-up. In both cases, click on Open System Preferences to open up your mac settings.
- If you don't see a pop-up window, or receive an error like the one below, then click on Apple icon in your menu bar and select System Preferences.
- Scroll down and select Screen Recording on the left side bar.
- Click on the lock at the bottom left of the window to make changes.
- Select the Teamflow app or the web browser you are using. Ensure there is a checkmark next to the app.
- Mac will then ask you to quit and re-open the app. Click on Quit & Reopen to continue.
- Once the app restarts, you will be able to share you screen!
- If screen share is not enabled on your web browser, you will see the following pop-up:
How to enable captions in Teamflow
- Teamflow currently does not have built-in captions, but we are compatible with Google Chrome's live captions.
- On your computer, open Chrome.
- At the top right, click More and then Settings.
- At the bottom, click Advanced and then Accessibility.
- Select Captions to open your device settings, where you can change your video caption style.
Common problems
- I can't get my audio and video to turn on when using my web browser.
- I'm using the desktop app and my audio and video does not work.
- Teamflow is muting me whenever I use another tab or window.
- Teamflow keeps suppressing the volume of my other applications (Windows specific)
- I'm using a VPN and my audio and video do not work.
- I have another audio or video related problem and I need help!
- I can't get my audio and video to work when using my web browser.
- Most often, this is because your audio and video are not enabled on your browser. See our section above on how to enable Teamflow to work on your web browser.
- If after following these instructions, your audio and video still don't work, then your browser itself may be blocked by your computer settings. To fix this, see below:
- Windows
- Go to your Settings

- Click on System
- Select the Sound tab on the left side bar and then scroll down to Input.
- Here you can see which microphone is connected to your computer and test the microphone to ensure its working
- You can then confirm its connecting to Teamflow by going back to the Settings homepage and clicking on Privacy
- Select the Camera tab on the left side bar. Ensure that Camera access for this device is on and the toggle to Allow apps to access your camera is on as well.
- Scroll down to a section labeled Allow desktop apps to access your camera. Check that the toggle is on and you should see your preferred web browser in the list below.
- Click on the Microphone tab in the left side bar and repeat the same steps.
- Check that Microphone access for this device is on.
- Check that the toggle for Allow apps to access your Microphone is on.
- Finally, scroll down to the section labelled Allow desktop apps to access your microphone and check that the toggle is set to on.

- Go to your System Preferences
- Click on Security & Privacy
- Click on Camera, and then ensure the web browser you use for Teamflow has a checkmark next to it.
- Repeat for Microphone. Click on Microphone, and then ensure the web browser you use for Teamflow has a checkmark next to it.
- If the web browser is open, you will need to close and re-start the browser for the changes to take effect.
- Go to your System Preferences
- I'm using the desktop app and my audio and video do not work.
- Windows
- Go to your Settings
- Click on System

- Finally, scroll down to the section labelled Allow desktop apps to access your microphone and check that the toggle is set to on.
- Go to your Settings

- Go to your System Preferences
- Click on Security & Privacy
- Click on Camera, and then check if there is a checkmark next to the Teamflow app.
- Repeat for Microphone. Click on Microphone, and then ensure the web browser you use for Teamflow has a checkmark next to it.
- If your Teamflow app is open, close and restart for the changes to take effect.
- Go to your System Preferences
- Windows
- Teamflow is auto-muting me whenever I use another tab or window.
- Teamflow has a feature that will auto-mute users after a defined period of time when they are using another tab or window.
- We do this protect your privacy and ensure that your audio and video are not on when you're not interacting on Teamflow.
- By default this is set to never, but you can change the settings by going to your user settings.
- Go to 'Audio & Video' and scroll down to 'Turn off my camera and mic when I'm idle'
- Users can then choose to keep the setting off, or select an option to turn off their camera and microphone after 15, 30 or 60 minutes.
- Teamflow keeps suppressing the volume of my other applications (Windows specific)
- There is a default Windows sound setting that reduces the volume of other application by 80% when it detects "communication activity", which includes the video call functionality in Teamflow.
- How to adjust or disable this Windows setting
- Open the Windows Sound Control Panel. An easy way to do this is to press Windows + R and enter control mmsys.cpl sounds into the Run box.
- Click on the Communications tab.
- Select Do nothing (or whichever option you like) and click OK.
- Done!

- I'm using a VPN and my audio and video do not work.
- If your company uses a VPN it is possible they are blocking the ports and domains required to allow our video and audio to work.
