Creating Private Rooms
Rooms allow you to create dedicated spaces within Teamflow for meetings, project documents, or even your own personal office.
In this article we show you how to:
1. How to create a room
- Click on the + Add rooms button on the sidebar
- You can then choose an option from one of our pre-made templates and name it.
- Once you've chosen a template, you'll be given multiple privacy settings for your room listed below;
- Anyone in your company can access this room
- If you choose this option, anyone that is a user within your workspace will be able to access this room.
- Anyone with the link can access
- If you choose this option, anyone that has the room link will be able to access the room. This is great for rooms where you often invite guests into your office
- Only people invited can access this room
- If you choose this option, you will be greeted with an invite menu upon creating the room. This modal will allow you to send personal invites via email to users so they can access the room.
- Only users who are granted permission to access this room will be able to see the room on the floor and/or the sidebar

- If you choose this option, you will be greeted with an invite menu upon creating the room. This modal will allow you to send personal invites via email to users so they can access the room.
2. Subscribing to a room within your workspace
At Teamflow, we are conscious of virtual real estate, especially when it comes to saving space on your sidebar. Which is why you now only see empty rooms in which you are subscribed to. If you're not subscribed to a room and it's empty, you won't see it. In order to subscribe to a room, please follow these instructions;
- Click on the + Add rooms button on the sidebar
- In the dropdown menu, click on Browse Rooms
- In the Browse Rooms menu, click on any of the new rooms you'd like to join.
- Once you click on a room, you will be teleported to that room and you will now be subscribed to that room which means it is present on your sidebar.
3. Unsubscribing from a room
Sometimes you may go into a room for a one-off meeting. After being invited and heading into an room, you will be subscribed to that room which means it will show up on your sidebar. If you'd like to get rid of this room on your sidebar, please follow these instructions;
- After highlighting over the room, click on the "..." menu that pops up to the right of the room name
- From the dropdown that pops up, click Unsubscribe
- That's it! You are now unsubscribed from that room and it will disappear from your sidebar.
4. Connecting a portal to a room
Rooms now have the capabilities to enter in various ways. All rooms will show up on the left sidebar of your Teamflow environment, which are accessible by clicking on the name of the room. However, you have unlimited capabilities with how to visualize access the room on the floor of your office.
If your room appears on the sidebar but not on the floor or you'd like to create multiple portals to a room, follow these instructions;
- Click on the customization tool at the top left of your Teamflow environment. Once your Customization tool is open in the sidebar, scroll down to find our rooms option. Click one of the options.
- Find the name of the room you'd like to access within the list shown in the pop-up. (Tip: You can search for the name of the room using the search bar at the top of the window).
- Hit 'Connect' and another room with show up on the floor of your office.
