Common problems

  1. I can't get my audio and video to work when using my web browser.
    • Most often, this is because your audio and video are not enabled on your browser. See our section above on how to enable Teamflow to work on your web browser.
    • If after following these instructions, your audio and video still don't work, then your browser itself may be blocked by your computer settings. To fix this, see below:
      • Windows
      • Go to your Settings
          • Click on System
          • Select the Sound tab on the left side bar and then scroll down to Input.
          • Here you can see which microphone is connected to your computer and test the microphone to ensure its working
          • You can then confirm its connecting to Teamflow by going back to the Settings homepage and clicking on Privacy
          • Select the Camera tab on the left side bar.  Ensure that Camera access for this device is on and the toggle to Allow apps to access your camera is on as well.
          • Scroll down to a section labeled Allow desktop apps to access your camera. Check that the toggle is on and you should see your preferred web browser in the list below.

          • Finally, scroll down to the section labelled Allow desktop apps to access your microphone and check that the toggle is set to on.
      • Mac
        • Go to your System Preferences
        • Click on Security & Privacy

    • Teamflow has a feature that will auto-mute users after a defined period of time when they are using another tab or window.
    • We do this protect your privacy and ensure that your audio and video are not on when you're not interacting on Teamflow.
    • By default this is set to never, but you can change the settings by going to your user settings.

    • Go to 'Audio & Video' and scroll down to 'Turn off my camera and mic when I'm idle'
    • Users can then choose to keep the setting off, or select an option to turn off their camera and microphone after 15, 30 or 60 minutes.
  4. Teamflow keeps suppressing the volume of my other applications (Windows specific)
    • There is a default Windows sound setting that reduces the volume of other application by 80% when it detects "communication activity", which includes the video call functionality in Teamflow.
    • How to adjust or disable this Windows setting
      • Open the Windows Sound Control Panel. An easy way to do this is to press Windows + R and enter control mmsys.cpl sounds into the Run box.
      • Click on the Communications tab.
      • Select Do nothing (or whichever option you like) and click OK.
      • Done!
